Governors around the country are being sworn in for new terms this month, sharing their visions for their state and, in some cases, assessments of the partisan divisions facing the country. Some of these state executives are also the subject of national attention as potential presidential candidates in 2024. On the PBS NewsHour, political analyst Amy Walter helped compare the inaugural speeches of two of those governors, Republican Ron DeSantis of Florida and Democrat Gavin Newsom of California.
