What architects design on paper never translates perfectly to real life. I had this amazing vision - big windows, open stairs cutting through, see-through design. These stairs ended up being a disaster that cost me 200 sq ft of space and $10K to fix. What the architect drew didn't actually fit right when we started building. This is super common - designs that look incredible on paper often don't make sense in reality. When building houses, expect the unexpected and budget for it!
