I removed the OE 2004 STI steering rack from the car and completely depowered it by removing all of the hydraulic lines and welding the quill on the inside of the pinion valve body solid. I reinstalled the steering rack into the car and then removed the OE steering column from the car. I sent the OE column out as a core to epower
